David Bellamy is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in minor to catastrophic injuries of the skeletal frame. He treats a full spectrum of patients with various orthopedic problems ranging from sports injuries to the total replacement of joints. He is also one of North Florida's Orthopaedic trauma surgeons. David Graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in May 1997.

 

David's unique background includes sixteen years as a certified police officer with the Tallahassee Police Department where he worked as a patrol officer answering calls for service, conducting investigations, and preparing probable cause reports. He is a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor by the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission and RRB Systems International. he has served on the Police Departments Defensive Tactics Review Committee to oversee the agencies Defensive tactics training, policies and procedures.

Today David serves as a member of the Tallahassee Police Department's Tactical Apprehension and Control Team (TAC), the municipalites equivalent of a S.W.A.T. team. as an on scene medical professional to provide trauma care to injuries which may occur during tactical deployments and operations.He is well trained in street-level enforcement and is acutely familiar with post incident effects of less-lethal and specialty impact munitions.

David is employed full time by the Tallahassee Orthopaedic Clinic and is the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
